“Can’t take it anymore” The residents of the La Loma neighborhood agree. In contact with EL DIA, frontistas from that area denounced the repeated cases of insecurity suffered in recent months, of which many are committed by motojets. As they pointed out, “due to the lack of response by the authorities,” they plan to hold a neighborhood meeting this Saturday, March 5, to seek solutions and “protect each other.”
In the last hours a neighbor was the victim of a robbery in his business (details can be read in this Tuesday’s print edition), and this was what “overflowed” the glass of “patience”, they pointed out.
“The neighbors are not an association, or anything, we met because of the fear that everything that was happening gave us,” said a neighbor who provided details in addition to the insecurity events that they have been suffering.
The woman also pointed out that motorcycle thefts have been prolonging for a few months, with her 12-year-old son being the victim of the thieves when he was walking along the sidewalk.
Meanwhile, he joined the theft of February 6, around 6:30 p.m., when the criminals stole a motorcycle at 36 e/23 and 24 and fled down the sidewalk -4 on two motorcycles plus the one they stole-. It should be noted that also on Saturday 02/05 at calle 36 e/22 y 23, at noon, a house was robbed when the owners were not there.
In addition, on Calle 35 e/23 y 24, an armed robbery of a young man was also reported, while a neighbor recalled that there was also an attempted robbery at a store on Calle 24 and 36, 4 motojets on two motorcycles.
“In the previous meeting, the idea arose of sending all the notes to the Departmental Headquarters, to Police Station 4, to the Directorate of Security Personnel, to the Private Secretary of the municipality, and to the COM requesting that domes or cameras be placed in the area,” concluded the neighbor.
