Businessman and main shareholder of Severstal Alexei Mordashov reacted to his inclusion in the EU sanctions list. He said that he did not understand the reasons for the introduction of restrictions, since he was far from politics and had been engaged in the economy all his life in Russia and abroad, RIA Novosti reports.
“I have absolutely nothing to do with the current geopolitical tensions. For a long time I have been involved in the development of economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation with European countries. I don’t understand how the sanctions against me will contribute to the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine,” the entrepreneur emphasized.
Mordashov added that the situation in Ukraine needs to be resolved as soon as possible, everything necessary must be done to find a way out and help restore normal life.
The EU sanctions list also included the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov and businessmen: Alisher Usmanov, Mikhail Fridman and Pyotr Aven.
