TSKHINVAL, February 27. /Then24/. It is planned to open a customs point for issuing permits for the import of cars in Russia within a month in Tskhinvali to solve the problem of queues for obtaining such documents in South Ossetia. This was announced on Sunday in Instagram by the President of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov.
For the passage of cars with South Ossetian numbers on the territory of Russia, it is required to issue their temporary import for a certain period. In case of return outside the deadline, the owners face a fine depending on the brand, cost of the car and the period of delay. In 2021, traffic jams were recorded at the border from cars whose temporary import period is expiring.
“We put things in order, we found a solution: the customs authorities of Russia, who serve at the Nizhny Zaramag crossing point” [многофункциональном автомобильном пункте пропуска на югоосетино-российской границе] they issue these imports for a year and, at the request of car owners, for what period of time it needs to be issued. As for the queues for clearance of these imports at customs, there is an agreement within the framework of the agreements that we have on alliance and integration. It will be in Tskhinval, I think, within a month [открыт] customs post or point where residents of South Ossetia, in order not to stand in line, will take these [разрешения на] import of vehicles. They will be able to do this a few days before departure,” Bibilov said.
The press service of the customs of North Ossetia told reporters that efforts are being made to reduce the queues of cars at the Nizhny Zaramag checkpoint on the border. Communication between South Ossetia and Russia is possible only by road.
