O YouTube said that it is taking several actions against the Russia in response to the war, including restricting access to RT, a Russian state television network, and other channels in Ukraine.
The platform said the restrictions on RT and other channels came in response to a request from the Ukrainian government.

The company stated that it is also pausing the ability of several Russian channels to monetize on the platform, in line with recent sanctions, and “significantly” limiting recommendations to those channels.
“As always, our teams continue to closely monitor news developments, including assessing what any new sanctions and export controls could mean for YouTube,” a company spokesperson said.
The platform has removed hundreds of channels and thousands of videos in recent days, including some for “coordinated deceptive practices,” the spokesperson said.
It is also ensuring that official news content appears in search queries about Russia and Ukraine.
