Canal + report leaked
On March 21, 2021, Canal + broadcast the documentary directed by Marie Portolano and Guillaume Priou, entitled I’m not a bitch, I’m a journalist. Following this, Pierre Ménès was taken to task by Internet users. In effect, the latter has been accused by some people of sexual assault and sexist behavior. If at first, the journalist will be suspended by the encrypted channel, he will record his departure a few months later. Moreover, following the affair Canal+ had commissioned a report on the actions of its consultant.
Many witnesses describe Pierre Ménès as a “redneck with a coarse and vulgar customary language” who, when he addresses women, with remarks “often of a sexual and degrading nature”.

Almost a year later, the case continues to make noise. Indeed, the investigation report launched by the encrypted channel has leaked. It is BFM TV, which reveals the exact content of it to us. According to our colleagues, forty-two people agreed to answer the questionnaire, including twenty-five men and seventeen women. Among these people, four women believe they have been victims of sexist and inappropriate behavior.
A foul-mouthed redneck
In this report, we learn that Pierre Ménès is described by his former colleagues as a redneck with a coarse and vulgar customary language. When he speaks to women, he often makes comments of a sexual and degrading nature. Despite this description, the investigators recognize that the testimonies do not suggest that he expected favors of a sexual nature in return for his behavior. In other words, there was no action relating to criminal qualification.
Conclusions which did not, however, prevent the prosecution from opening, in early January, a preliminary investigation for sexual assault and sexual harassment. In addition to his slips, Pierre Ménès is also described as a man with two faces. Indeed, he can be very protective with someone he frankly likes, but also very provocative. And especially with newcomers or people not connected to the world of football such as make-up artists.
Pierre Ménès’ lawyer denounces the Canal + report
According to Arash Derambarsh, Pierre Ménès’ lawyer, the Canal + report is an unfair trial against the journalist. For him, the humor of the former consultant has been laughing for years. Jokes that need to be put into context. Besides, he believes that the document of the encrypted string, is worth nothing. Why ? Because there is neither identified place, nor identified name, nor identified infraction. It should also be noted that the people who testified in this report should soon be summoned by the investigators.
