Queen Elizabeth II is known for her love for dogs. Now one of her four-legged friends has even won a prize.

Special joy for Queen Elizabeth II (95): One of her dogs has won a prize, as reported by the British “Daily Mail”. We are talking about the four-year-old Cocker Spaniel lady named Wolferton Drama, who goes by the nickname Lissy. The bitch, named after the Queen, held her own against 38 competitors at the Kennel Club’s Cocker Spaniel Championship.

The Queen’s love of animals has a long history

The Queen is known for her love for dogs, especially corgis. 2018 ended a remarkable history between the Queen and this dog breed that stretches back several decades. The last remaining purebred Corgi, Willow, died in 2018. He was the 14th generation descended from Susan, a Corgi given to then-Princess Elizabeth for her 18th birthday on April 21, 1944. During her reign she owned more than 30 Corgis.

The Queen is also a big fan of Dorgis, a Corgi-Dachshund crossbreed. Her son Prince Andrew (61) gave her two Dorgi puppies last year. When her husband Prince Philip (1921-2021) was hospitalized in February 2021, the cute dogs should cheer up the Queen. The two Dachshund-Corgi mix breeds were also by her side as she mourned the death of Philip on April 9. However, Fergus, one of the two pups, died at just five months old in May 2021.
