The mayor of Béziers Robert Ménard, close to the candidate RN Marine Le Pen, denounced this January 23 the positions on the vaccination against the Covid-19 of the candidates Nicolas Dupont-Aignan and Florian Philippot who according to him “have dead on their conscience “.

“They’re smart enough that I don’t think for a moment that they believe what they say. [Ils font ça] to grab a few votes, to find a small political niche, ”accused Robert Ménard on Radio J.

“I do not mind that we flatter in the direction of the hair this or that part of his electorate […] but not when it comes to doing it to the detriment of people’s lives”, he insisted before adding: “Those like Mr. Dupont-Aignan, like Mr. Philippot, who have fun to win a few voices to say a number of monstrosities, senseless nonsense […], they take on a responsibility that means that tomorrow I would not imagine sitting at the same table.”

To the journalist who asked him if these political leaders had, according to him, “dead on their conscience”, he replied: “Of course they have dead on their conscience.”

Florian Philippot reacted to Robert Ménard’s comments on Twitter. In his message, the presidential candidate did not hesitate to qualify the mayor of Béziers as “Pass-vaccinolâtre, eurogaga and macronist”.

Nicolas Dupont-Aignan did not respond for his part to the comments of the mayor of Béziers.
