According to Conass, three states did not send data for the last 24 hours; death toll is 623,000
Experiencing a rapid increase in cases of Ômicron variant, Brazil surpassed the mark of 24 millions of infected by Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020. According to information released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) at 6 pm this Sunday, 23, 135,080 new cases were recorded and 296 deaths caused by the disease in the last 24 hours. With that, the total number of infected went to 24,044,255, while the number of deaths went to 623,097. It is worth mentioning that, according to the Conass bulletin, three states did not send new data for the update, namely: Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso and Tocantins. The fatality rate is at 2.6%. The mortality rate is 296.5 per 100,000 inhabitants. The incidence rate is 11,441.6 per 100,000 people. With 4.5 million cases and 156 thousand deaths, São Paulo is the state most affected by the pandemic in absolute numbers.
