She was taken to a private hospital, where she was resuscitated and transferred to a hospital in Botucatu, where she is conscious and stable, but remains under observation. In an official note released on social media, the city of Lençóis Paulista said it did not have access to the girl’s medical records, but even so, it decided to suspend the vaccination of children, and said that the local Health Department is in contact with all those responsible. by the other 46 vaccinated children in the city for follow-up. The administration also ensured that the dose was pediatric and correctly applied.
In an official note, the Center for Epidemiological Surveillance (CVE) of São Paulo said it was monitoring the situation. “The Epidemiological Surveillance Center (CVE) is following up and will analyze the case of Lençóis Paulista. CVE informs that all cases of adverse events are analyzed by a committee of experts before any confirmation. It is, therefore, hasty and irresponsible to say that the case of the municipality is associated with vaccination. Most of the time, the cases of post-vaccination adverse events are coincident, without any causal relationship with the immunizer”, he said. According to the city hall of Lençóis Paulista, the stoppage was to await instructions from state and federal agencies, and said that it had already requested access to the medical records to find out if it was an adverse effect of the vaccine received by the girl.
