Saying Rogelio Funes Mori in Monterrey is saying a goal for some years now. The ‘Twin’ was in charge of opening the account in Aguascalientes during the visit of ‘Rayados’ to Necaxa, within the framework of the second day of the Clausura 2022 of Liga MX.
Barely at minute 4 of the first half, the naturalized Mexican Argentine closely followed a play on the right side, which had Maxi Meza as the protagonist. The midfielder, pressured by a rival, made a space for himself and took the center into the area. There, Funes Mori did not forgive.
It was the 30-year-old striker’s first goal in 2022 and number 132 since donning the Monterrey jersey. In fact, Funes Mori is the top scorer in the history of the blue and white club. Behind him are Humberto Suazo (121), Mario de Souza Mota (96), Dorlán Pabón (88), Aldo de Nigris (83), among others.
It is worth mentioning that Necaxa reached this commitment after being beaten (2-1) by Juárez in his first appearance in the Mexican league. For its part, Monterrey did not go beyond a goalless draw with Querétaro in its debut.
