The lieutenant governor in charge of the Executive Power, Osvaldo Jaldo, headed last night the inauguration of different sports spaces of the Municipal Gymnasium of Monteros José Nicolás Russo, which has more than 100 years of life. Now, the property has new tennis, basketball, volleyball courts, a health court and lighting.
“I am pleasantly surprised by what we are enabling today in this municipal gym. This is an example of when we say that there is a team in the Government. There is no other way to complete works. Once again it has been shown that teamwork is what brings solutions to people”, said Jaldo.
“In times of pandemic that brought health, economic and social problems, today we are opening these spaces that are a meeting point to practice different sports. These courts have a sporting value, and this means that the mayor prioritizes the health of the monterizos. This makes many people get out of their sedentary life, which is essential in this time of pandemic,” he added.
“As the Government of the province, we came to commit ourselves to do one more grain of sand so that this continues to expand,” said Jaldo, committing himself to giving life to the project of building a pool.
Along with the president were present the mayor Francisco Serra; the Vice President of the Legislature, Reigno Beloved; legislators Daniel Deiana Y George Delgadino; the secretary of Great Communes, Alberto Olea; Provincial Sports Secretary Jose Banegas; communal commissioners of the department and neighbors.
Serra, meanwhile, pointed out that today’s inaugurations mean “a State present.” “This allows the monterizos to develop different activities. We recovered all these spaces and it makes me much happier that the governor has said yes to the request to build a pool here. That is very important for our city.”
While Amado remarked: “Today this municipal gymnasium, which is more than 100 years old, is being valued. It is one more offer for all age groups so that they can practice sports outdoors. Despite the difficulties we have in terms of health due to the new peak of the pandemic, we say thanks to Governor Jaldo for bringing solutions as he always does.”
