Kyrgios defends Djokovic: "Looks like it's a weapon of mass destruction"

A few hours before the outcome of Novak Djokovic and his participation in the Australian Open, a tennis player from that country has come out in defense of the Serbian. This is Nick Kyrgios, who has publicly stated that the number 1 in the world is there to play tennis and that he is not going to bother anyone. In addition, he points to those who are being critical of him: “It seems as if it is a weapon of mass destruction. The mistreatment of the people of Melbourne in these last two years has been appalling.”

Kyrgios has also focused his words on several tennis players who do not think the same as Novak, saying that the Serbian needs support from his colleagues: “Imagine how he feels. I understand that Tsitsipas has his point of view, Murray is always politically correct and Nadal, whatever”.

The Australian has publicly acknowledged that Djokovic has contacted him, through the social network Instagram, where he has thanked him for defending him at this time. “As a person, he feels quite isolated by all of this. It’s a dangerous situation to be in, when you feel like you have the whole world against you and you can’t do anything,” he said.
