Jean-Jacques Bourdin accused of attempted sexual assault, he defends himself

SEXUAL ASSAULT – RMC and BFMTV journalist Jean-Jacques Bourdin is accused of attempted sexual assault by a former journalist who filed a complaint on Tuesday January 11 at the police station in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, reveals Le Parisien this Saturday, January 15.

According to the daily, the facts date back to 2013 in Calvi, in Haute-Corse. Aged 25 at the time, she was invited to a pétanque competition “Open de Calvi” where the then 64-year-old host was also present. However, the relationship between them is not good when they work together. She would even have been dismissed from the journalist’s team because of these professional conflicts.

She accepts the invitation anyway. In Calvi, she decides to go swimming in the hotel pool at 6 a.m. one morning, before Jean-Jacques Bourdin joins her in the water. He compliments her, she evokes an “embarrassing” situation. At that moment, the journalist grabbed her by the neck and tried to kiss her. She struggles, comes out of the water. “I always get what I want,” he allegedly told her.

“I never tried to kiss her by force”

Thereafter, he would have sent her text messages and emails for several months. She would never have answered him. In the only message she sent to investigators, sent a year after the events, he wrote to her: “You tempt me every morning… I like your look.”

The journalist, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the Parisian to file a complaint eight years later despite the limitation of the facts, because she no longer feels in a situation of inferiority. “I’m no longer a young journalist scared of losing my job and I know I didn’t have to go through what I went through,” she said. The daily specifies that two other women could testify to comparable facts in the days to come.

Also contacted by the newspaper, Jean-Jacques Bourdin disputes the facts: “I know this person, and I worked with her. I admit having bathed with her in the swimming pool of this hotel. But I never tried to forcibly kiss her or anyone else.”
