The first hours of the regional congress of the PP that León hosts this weekend have already made clear the importance that the upcoming regional elections on 13-F are going to have in the popular action plan. “They are not just any regional elections, they are regional elections” said its secretary general, Teodoro García Egea, who opened the event this Saturday with a speech from the stage of the Palacio de Exposiciones in the capital of León. Egea has remarked that “these are elections where the change in trend is going to be consolidated” that ends with Pablo Casado in La Moncloa “to solve the problems that Spain has”
After insisting on the idea that Castilla y León, under the command of the PP “is a successful community”, where Maueco “creates jobs and gives a future”, Egea has praised the “courage” of the president of the Board in calling early elections , an election for which he wanted to hold other parties responsible: “Who has caused the advance are those who have plunged Castilla y León into instability and in the danger of it falling into the wrong hands, they are responsible for us going to the urns”.
In the midst of the judicial crusade undertaken by the PP against the distribution of a small part of European funds, García Egea has put the Mañueco government as an example of favoring the harmonious development of the territories and equitable distribution of investments. Egea has assured the regional PP delegates that “Mañueco invests in León, as he invests in Palencia, as he invests in Burgos and does not ask anyone what party he is from.” The general secretary of the popular ones finished off his idea assuring that “if a hospital is needed, Alfonso builds it; if a school is needed, Alfonso promotes it because the funds belong to the neighbors and the infrastructures are for the neighbors.”
I was saying it, precisely in León, where, to cite a couple of examples, its hospital is the only one in the provincial capital of the community whose ICU was left without expansion in the midst of the Covid crisis or where El Bierzo has been waiting for more than 10 years for the installation of a radiotherapy unit compromised on numerous occasions by the successive governments of the PP.
The candidate to preside over the regional PP again, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, will speak on Saturday afternoon, when his continuity is also voted on. He will speak just after a round table with the regional presidents of the PP, among whom will be Ayuso, Feijoo or Moreno Bonilla. On Sunday, the closure of the congress will be put by the president of the popular, Pablo Casado.
