Egea inaugurates the PP Congress in Castilla y León: "With these elections we are going to consolidate the change"

The general secretary of the Popular Party, Teodoro García Egea, opened this Saturday the XIV Congress of training in Castilla y León, a conclave that is held just a month before the elections in the region in which, he assured, the PP is going to “consolidate the change in political trend in Spain.”

García Egea has assured that the president of the Junta, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, who this weekend is going to be revalidated as president of the PP of Castilla y León, will win the elections for the Junta de Castilla y León that are going to be held next February 13 because “from now on the PP is going to win all the elections that are called until Pablo Casado arrives at Moncloa”.

The general secretary of the popular party, in charge of giving the starting signal for the Congress held at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos de León and which Casado will close tomorrow, has begun his speech by remembering the founder of the party, Manuel Fraga, on the tenth anniversary of his death, a tribute that has set the assembly hall on its feet.

Immediately afterwards, García Egea stressed the importance of the regional elections in Castilla y León, which he defined not as “just another regional election” but as “the regional elections.

“We are risking the future of several generations,” he assured, while advancing that it is time to “show all the inhabitants of Castilla y León that they can trust Mañueco so that this autonomy continues to be a land of success” .

“Where there is unity there will always be victory,” he said days after his photo with the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayuso, with which Genoa sought to represent a truce in the internal crisis opened by the celebration of the Madrid congress.

On the other hand, the general secretary of the PP has stated that the PP will claim in court through the complaints of municipalities and autonomies and before Brussels if the distribution of European funds is necessary to avoid it being “the finger of the president” , Pedro Sanchez, the only criterion.

In this sense, Egea has criticized that the only criterion that has prevailed when distributing these funds is to give it to “territories that vote PSOE.” “The PP does not ask who is voted for, it gives funds for neighbors and infrastructure, however , the Government asks where they have voted for the PSOE to invest EU funds, bilateral agreements, ”he added.

“The PSOE has punished Castilla y León, it denies it what it deserves”, lamented the ‘popular’ leader, who recalled that in its day the PP raised an office for EU funds so that they would be distributed based on objective criteria and not based on “sectarianism”.

In addition, Egea has reiterated the request for the resignation of the Minister of Consumption, Alberto Garzon, for his controversial statements in a British media about livestock and the low quality of Spanish meat. “We cannot allow Garzón to continue as minister for another minute,” he has sentenced.

«Castilla y León lives from its livestock and its primary sector. We cannot allow rural people to be attacked by gentlemen who have never set foot on a cattle ranch in their lives”, he added before clarifying that “there is not an empty Spain as they say, what there are are empty ministries and empty ministers like Garzón What they have to do is go home.”
