Does the file resist?: Mauricio Macri's former Minister of Justice accused Kirchnerism of "generating impunity"

The Ex minister from Justice from Mauricio Macri, Germán Garavano, criticized the government for handling the case of the “judicial table”. Accusations against Garavano

Despite his accusations of impunity, the former head of the Ministry of Justice has also received complaints for negotiating impunity with several defendants. Elisa Carrio, president of the Civic Coalition, has denounced him for “poor performance of his duties” and has called for impeachment against him. Among the causes, there is the manipulation of the contests of the Council of the Judiciary, cover-up of the AMIA II case, appointment of an official accused of covering up drug trafficking cases, among others.

In 2017, the current national deputy for the Frente de Todos, Rodolfo Tailhade, denounced Garavano for negotiating with the Brazilian construction company Odebrecht. This case is classified as one of the largest acts of corruption in Latin America for making bribes and kickbacks to important authorities in 12 countries, including Argentina. According to the Peronist official, the former minister secretly met with the company to deal with the bribes, although the accusation was rejected by prosecutor Francisco Delgado.

Impunity for Mauricio Macri

Another of the scandals is the cover-up of former President Mauricio Macri. In this case, Germán Garavano was denounced for ordering the emptying of legal information that compromised the former head of state. With the maneuver, entire coverage on issues of institutional violence, gender violence, femicides, crimes against humanity, clandestine textile workshops, economic crimes and money laundering, drug trafficking, and corruption cases that compromised Macrista government officials disappeared.
