Britney Spears settles accounts with her sister Jamie Lynn

PEOPLE – At the Spears, we wash our dirty laundry on social networks. While Britney Spears has repeatedly spoken out in recent weeks to denounce the treatment she says she has suffered under her father’s 13 years of guardianship, she posted a long message again this Friday, January 14 to hugging her little sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.

The latter is currently promoting an autobiographical book and gave an interview to the famous show Good Morning America. The 30-year-old singer obviously mentioned her big sister, denying having contributed to the mistreatment she suffered. If she claims to “love” her eldest, she also claims that the latter has developed an “erratic” and “paranoid” character.

On Twitter, the person concerned, who was able, thanks to a massive mobilization of her fans, to get rid of the guardianship of her father, reacted to these remarks in a long text. She accuses her little sister of taking advantage of her notoriety to sell her book.

“The two things that bothered me about what my sister said was that my behavior was out of control. She was never really there for 15 years… so why is she talking about this? Unless she wants to sell a book taking advantage of me?”

“Everything was always brought to him on a silver platter”

In her message, the star also looks back on a painful memory for her, when in 2017, Jamie Lynn Spears performed a medley of her songs on stage at the Radio Disney Awards. Present in the audience, Britney, who wanted to return to the spotlight, was deprived of the stage by her father. Seeing her sister sing her own songs then “deeply hurt” her, she explains.

In her interview, Jamie Lynn Spears evokes this episode: “I just wanted to pay tribute to my sister, I don’t know why it bothered her”. The interested party provides an answer track on Twitter: “It may seem silly, but I wrote a lot of my songs, and my sister was just a baby. She never had to work for anything. Everything was always brought to him on a silver platter”.

The interpreter of Toxic tackles his family in passing, accusing him of having “broken [s]es dreams”, of having “degraded and humiliated” her. She concludes her message by indicating that she now intends to express herself less on social networks, because “the media and this industry have been too hateful towards me, I have given enough”.

“Death threats”

Jamie Lynn responded to her big sister, in a message posted this time on Instagram. She refers to her elder her accusations of “lies”, which push her fans to threaten her and her family, she assures.

“It’s getting hard now to explain to my eldest daughter why our family continues to receive death threats as a result of her aunt’s vague and accusatory posts, especially when you know she could tell the truth and end it all. in a second if she wanted to”.

Jamie Lynn Spears also defends her autobiographical book, which “is not about” her sister, but her years of career and work that she owes only to herself.
