Argentina is going through moments of record coronavirus infections in the midst of an outbreak of the omicron variant and, beyond the low mortality that is handled for now, the alarms go off when talking about any massive event.

In this context, the Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Nation, Matthias Lammens, spoke about football and the Professional League that will start in February.

“The return is without capacity, yes with a health passport, we want to be very demanding in that. We have vaccination percentages of developed countries, we should be proud. That allows us to have no more restrictions,” he said.

And he assured: “we want football to be a massive event. In any event that brings together a lot of people, the health passport is key. Although it is true that you can get reinfected, among vaccinated it is very difficult. And if you get infected, or there is no symptoms or they are mild symptoms,” the official told Radio Del Plata.
