The fires in Patagonia continue to affect several southern provinces, especially after the reactivation of the focus on Bariloche that reached National Route 40. Since the end of December 2021, the fires began in southern Argentina that have already destroyed more than 6,000 hectares of native forest. In this framework, the Executive Power declared, through Decree 6/2022 published in the Official Gazette, the igneous emergency in the entire territory of Argentina for a period of one year and created a working group that will be chaired by the Ministry of Environment.

Currently, in the provinces of Río Negro and Chubut, active outbreaks continue. Another woman joined the claim and stated: “In Lago Puelo and in other neighboring points they organize to make food for the brigade members because neither the provincial nor the national fire management system covers their food.” Despite all the context, firefighters and brigade members continue to attack the sources with the aim of putting out the flames in the midst of exhausting heat.
