Mexico City.- The Braves of FC Juárez traveled to Mexico City to hold the duel of day 2 of the current Grita México Clausura 2022 championship of the MX League against the Cruz Azul Machine, a team which they have not managed to win on the field of the Azteca Stadium.
The frontiersmen are at a disadvantage when their presence is located inside the Coloso de Santa Úrsula. For four games they have not managed to beat the sky blue, much less rescue a point in the First Division tournament as in the last Copa MX.
The group from Ciudad Juárez arrives as a victim when they land in the capital of the country. However, with the direction of Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti, they plan to end the first aforementioned that they have tolerated since the 2018 Opening, the year they visited Cruz Azul for the first time in the World Cup building.
The first game between the two was played within the Copa MX. In that year, the people from the capital easily defeated the Juarenses 2-0. Since then, the official duels between the two have been played in the First Division and each one ended in favor of the Cruz Azulinos.
For the first time as rivals in the Azteca, the blues were victorious 2-0 in the 2019 Liga MX Apertura tournament. In the last game at CDMX, the Bravos were very close to retaining a point, however time was not enough for them and they fell 3-2 in Guard1anes 2020.
After finishing 2021, Bravos faced the Celestes at the Benito Juárez Olympic Stadium. In Grita México A2021 they got their first win 2-1, already with “Tuca” Ferreti as their technical director. In the Guard1anes Clausura 2021 they lost on the hour after the marking of Jonathan Rodríguez.
At the beginning of the year they will again be visitors against Cruz Azul and they hope that the value of the victory a week ago will help them surpass the nine-time Mexican soccer champion for the first time at the Azteca Stadium. The appointment will be for Saturday, January 15 at 9:00 p.m. (Mexico time), 8:00 p.m. (Culiacán time).
As extra data, the first game between the two in the City was in Copa MX. In 2016, the Machine easily thrashed FC Juárez 3-0. That duel was played at the Blue Stadium.
