Dandruff is a health problem, and also an aesthetic issue. Let’s see how we can eliminate it with natural products.
No one should feel self-conscious about having dandruff. 50% of the population suffers from it, to a greater or lesser extent.
It is a capillary health problem, but also unsightly, because nobody likes dandruff in their hair or clothes.
It is usual to resort to an anti-dandruff shampoo. The problem is that they are usually very strong, they have a lot of chemicals, and very few can be used on a daily basis.
The doctor and nutritionist Josh Ax proposes us on his blog manufacture ourselves a natural anti-dandruff shampoo, without chemicals.
It is also gentle, and can be used several times a week. These ingredients give 20 or 30 applications.
Natural anti-dandruff shampoo
- 1-1/2 cups (1 can) coconut milk
- 1/2 cup liquid castile soap
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1/2 teaspoon unrefined coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 20 drops of rosemary essential oil
- 15 drops of tea tree essential oil
- 1 tablespoon ground fenugreek seeds
In a bowl mix coconut milk, coconut oil and castile soap. The coconut is nutritious, and the Castile soap helps remove excess dandruff.
We add apple cider vinegar, water and sodium bicarbonate. These elements exfoliate the skin and fight fungi and bacteria in the hair, associated with dandruff.
Next, essential oils. They provide aroma, and have fungicidal properties. By last, ground fenugreek seeds. It is an Indian spice that has lecithin, which helps to cleanse the hair, and promotes its growth.
With all the ingredients well mixed it is used as a normal shampoo, insisting on the scalp, which is where dandruff is generated, not on the hair. Let stand a few minutes before rinsing.
In the following applications, shake before use, to remix everything.
As it has many natural ingredients, it is advisable to do an allergy test before using it, applying a little to the skin.
