Campazzo shone in the Denver Nuggets victory

The base Facundo Campazzo added a double-double, the third of his time in the NBA with 18 points and 12 assists, in the loose victory obtained by Denver Nuggets (21 wins, 19 losses) at home over Portland Trail Blazers (16 and 25), by 140 to 108, for a new day of the NBA regular phase.

The ex-Peñarol Cordovan played 27 minutes and 29 seconds, a period in which he scored 18 points (3-6 in triples, 4-4 in doubles and 1-2 in free) and delivered 12 assists, adding 3 turnovers, 4 steals and 4 violations. As usual, the number 7 left several plays for the highlights, such as a robbery followed by a pipe in the first quarter that ended with a missed 3-pointer by rookie “Bones” Hyland.

In Denver there was the return of Will Barton, scorer of the match with 21 points, already recovered from an injury to his left foot although he did not play the last few minutes due to a blow to the head that scared everyone present, followed by the Serb Nikola Jokic with 20 (8 rebounds and 7 assists) and Jeff Green with 19 and several spectacular dumps.

For its part, Portland played greatly diminished without its star Damian Lillard, plus his flanks CJ McCollum, Anfernee Simons, Norman Powell, Larry Nance and Cody Zeller. The Blazers’ season was affected by injuries and the coronavirus and they are already pointing their guns at the upcoming Draft.

The Nuggets were coming off a tough loss as visitors to the Los Angeles Clippers by 87-85 – another team heavily affected by injuries – after winning by 25 points (59-34 midway through the third quarter), which led to a harsh reprimand from coach Michael Malone for all team members.
