After his speech at the National Business Meeting (Enade 2022), the president of Sofofa, Richard Von Appen, referred to the tax on the country’s high net worth, an issue that disrupts big business and that in his opinion is “contradictory “since it would affect the ability of companies to invest in new projects.

The tax on the “super-rich” gained notoriety in recent days, due to the indication that the current opposition introduced in the financing project of the Universal Guaranteed Pension (PGU) and that led the government to present a Constitutionality Reserve.

“It is contradictory because it is a confiscation of the entrepreneurs’ savings from year to year and that a large part is reinvested in companies. So, a tax like this will affect the ability of companies to invest, and it does not seem to me because they are silver that were taxed at the time and that today are at the service and are part of the financing that companies have for new projects, “said Von Appen, from Enade.

Regarding Gabriel Boric’s intervention in front of the business community, the Sofofa helmsman said that “without a doubt it was a very good speech in the sense of calling for everyone to build together and solve the challenges we have as a society”, adding that “it is inviting dialogue , which is very positive. “

“As he said, in the end we are going to build a better country together, so we are available when he and his team consider it to be able to meet and give our contribution,” he added.
