Uruguay distributes books and ice cream to children on the 1st day of vaccination against Covid-19

The main pediatric reference center in the country created a playful universe for the immunization campaign from 5 to 11 years old, with cartoons, music and gifts

THE Uruguay started the vaccination from children aged 5 to 11 years with immunizing Pfizer against Covid-19 this Wednesday, the 12th. To welcome the little ones, the Pereira Rossell Hospital Center, in Montevideo, the main pediatric reference center in the country, created a playful universe in the vaccination environment, with an exhibition of cartoon in the waiting room and book distribution for the vaccinated. After the application, the children still received a Ice cream while waiting for 15 minutes to observe possible adverse effects. Colorful decorations, chairs, hammocks and music also completed the atmosphere. “Children come to be vaccinated, but also to play, to spend time relaxing, and they leave with a gift,” said Deputy Minister of Public Health José Luis Satdjian. It is estimated that 84,000 Uruguayan children will receive the first dose of the vaccine by next week at more than 170 vaccination centers across the country.
