Security bench leader defends priority for police readjustment

Deputy Captain Augusto recognized that the claim of other categories is fair, but stated that the government does not have resources for everyone: ‘It is impossible’

The leader of the public security bench in the Chamber, deputy Captain Augustus (PL), still believe in readjustment promised by the government to federal police. “We understand that the claim of all servers for a replacement at least inflationary is fair. We have never seen a government give raises to all categories, all powers, spheres. This is impossible. You never have the resources for all that. So governments always prioritize some area, whether in health, education, administration. And we have the president Jair Bolsonaro prioritizing the wing of the public security“, he stated. The amount destined for the increase, about R$ 1.7 billion, was approved after negotiations between Planalto and Congress, generating dissatisfaction in other categories, which came to hand over positions and threaten to start work stoppages.

In an interview with Jornal Jovem Pan, Captain Augusto also stressed that reviewing the increase in the number of police officers would be bad for the federal government. “Let’s also remember that security lost a lot in this mandate. Congress passed the Emergency PEC, which as it is a constitutional amendment project, the president does not know how to give an opinion or sanction, it was the House and Senate that approved it and the police class lost a lot”, he said, defending that a counterpart for the agents. The president has until January 21 to sanction or veto the increase in the number of police officers.
