Mouscron players refuse to train because they were not paid, club blames Lille

The players of 1B club Mouscron did not receive a salary last month and are refusing to train for the time being. The club acknowledges the situation, but puts the blame on Lille. The French first division team is in control at Mouscron.

It is not the first time this season that Mouscron has been plagued by financial problems. According to the second division, mother club Lille does not comply with the agreements made.

“This delicate situation is only due to Lille’s failure to fulfill its obligations,” it said in Mouscron. “Lille still owes us a considerable amount. With those cents we would be able to complete the budget for this season without any problems.”

The players were not paid last month and are refusing to train for the time being, Mouscron is trying to resolve the situation as soon as possible. “We are doing everything we can to ensure the continuity of the club and are optimistic that a solution will be found in a reasonable time.”
