The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) warns that it is illegal that companies force their workers to pay for a Covid test.

Given the increase in COVID-19 cases caused by the Omicron variant, some companies have taken measures to prevent the spread of the virus, and one of them is to request tests from workers such as requirement to access their work centers.
However, through a statement the STPS warned that this activity is illegal because according to current labor legislation, employers they cannot pass the cost of these tests on to their employees.

In the same text, workers are reminded of the importance of not going to work centers if they show up symptoms compatible with COVID-19, to avoid being a potential risk of contagion for other people.
