The quarterfinals have become the final station for the double duo Sander Gillé-Joran Vliegen in Adelaide. The 2 Belgians lost in 2 sets against the Serbs Tomislav Brkic and Nikola Cacic, the 8th seeded: 6-2, 6-3.

As fourth seed, Vliegen and Gillé were free in the first round. In the second round, they defeated Americans Austin Krajicek and Steve Johnson 5-7, 6-3, 10-5.

Last week, the duo lost their first match at a first tournament in Adelaide, against Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi and Monegasque Hugo Nys in the second round.

The 30-year-old Gillé (ATP-26 double) and the 28-year-old Vliegen (ATP-32 double) won 5 ATP titles together, including one last year in Singapore. In 2019 they triumphed in Zhuhai, Gstaad and Båstad. In 2020 they won the overall victory in Nur-Sultan.
