Former employee of the St. Petersburg pre-trial detention center was convicted of paid services to prisoners

A former employee of the Petersburg SIZO was convicted of bribes in the amount of two million rubles – he provided paid services to prisoners. This was reported to “” on Thursday, January 13, at the city prosecutor’s office.

According to the ministry, it is about the former head of the operational department of SIZO-6 Yevgeny Dekterev. The man was sentenced to seven years in prison. Initially, he was accused of bribes in the amount of about 10 million rubles, but at the trial they were only able to prove that he had received two million.

Dekterev received large bribes, providing various concessions to the prisoners. The money for the creation of favorable conditions of detention was transferred by the relatives of the detainees.

For a certain amount, the detainees in the pre-trial detention center were provided with more comfortable sleeping places in the cells, were allowed to use mobile phones and receive additional food. And if the internal order was violated, no measures of influence and coercion were applied to them.
