Did the parents of a Chinese woman influence the authorities in the Chinese city of Zhengzhou to help them find a marriage partner? When she met with one of the candidates at his home, a strict lockdown was declared in the city.
A strict lockdown in Zhengzhou, China has most likely not pleased any residents. But Wang, who had arrived in town on a series of blind dates, found herself in a particularly uncomfortable situation.
One of the candidates invited the woman to his home to impress her with his cooking skills. However, during the visit, Zhengzhou was suddenly declared under a strict lockdown and residents were forbidden to leave their homes. Wang was forced to spend an entire week at the home of the man she just met.
Despite the romantic comedy stereotypes, this highly unlikely acquaintance did not lead to a relationship. Taking to social media, Wang said she came to town to attend 10 blind dates her family arranged for her, but ended up spending an entire week under the roof of a man who wasn’t her dream man.
In the end, Wang found the man’s cooking skills “mediocre”. He also failed to enchant the woman with his charm during the time together. Although it made a good impression on her that the man took care of the household and cooked for her, his art of speaking led the candidate onto the slippery slope: Wang characterized the apartment owner as “dumb as a wooden doll”.
However, Wang’s video blog about her time in the apartment of a stranger quickly spread rapidly on Chinese social networks. Perhaps this popularity will help the woman find a perfect partner with exceptional culinary skills.
