Sometimes you have to do a quick test, sometimes not. Where does the mask requirement apply in NRWwhere can you drop them off? We’ll help you to get into the whole new Corona-Rule-jumble to look through,

Corona in NRW: New rules from Thursday – you have to know that

The new rules have been known for a few days. This Thursday (January 13th) they will finally come into force.

They make it more difficult for people to enter restaurants, cafés and pubs who do not have a booster or who have recently recovered from the coronavirus. Those who already have the booster vaccination, on the other hand, no longer need to present an additional test in many areas, such as in fitness studios. For those who have been boosted, 2G will then apply again.

In order to straighten out the queues in front of the test centers, a new test rule also applies: a self-test can be accepted as an entry requirement under supervision instead of official proof. If you make it at home and then just show it off, it doesn’t count because then you can’t tell when it was made.

Here is the corona rule overview in NRW:

2G plus: This rule basically restricts access to defined areas to vaccinated or convalescent people who also have a current, negative corona test. What is new is that this now also affects gastronomy – unless only food and drinks that have been ordered are picked up there. In addition, 2G plus also applies to indoor sports – with the exception of professional sports -, in indoor swimming pools, saunas, tanning studios, when singing in choirs and making music with wind instruments, at carnival and similar traditional and dance events, in canteens and Canteens for external people as well as for sexual services.

Exceptions: The obligation to test in areas where 2G plus applies does not apply to anyone who, in addition to the full basic immunization, either has a booster vaccination or has recovered from a corona infection in the previous three months.

More news from the region:

Corona-Tests: The negative test evidence must not be older than 24 hours for a rapid antigen test and not more than 48 hours for a PCR test. Self-tests under supervision are also possible – for example in fitness studios. The respective operator decides whether and in what form this is offered on site. So you should inquire about that first.

2G: Access only for vaccinated or convalescents applies, among other things, to shops outside of daily needs, cultural events, in zoos and amusement arcades as well as for tourist overnight stays and folk festivals. NRW Minister of Health Karl-Josef Laumann (CDU) defined as an orientation: “In principle, NRW remains with 2G in the leisure sector. Wherever you cannot wear a mask in the leisure area, 2G plus applies. “

Exceptions: The 2G rule does not apply to minors up to and including 15 years of age. A test instead of a vaccination can also be given to people with a certificate under certain conditions.

Corona in NRW (Stand: 13. Januar):

  • 7 day incidence: 416.7
  • New infections from the previous day: 17,236 cases
  • First vaccinations in percent: 78.6
  • Complete vaccination in percent: 75.2
  • Booster vaccinations in percent: 46.8
  • Total deaths: 20,697

Mask requirement: The mask requirement will be reintroduced in queues or at outdoor stalls – also for events and gatherings, unless they are subject to 3G or 2G access regulations. When shopping in shops and in local and long-distance public transport, the use of FFP2 and comparable masks has recently been “strongly recommended”. But the so-called surgical masks can still be used.

Contact restrictions: Here it remains with the known rules. Vaccinated and convalescent people may meet a maximum of ten indoors and outdoors. Children up to and including 13 years of age are exempt from this. As soon as an unvaccinated person takes part, you can only meet two people from another household.

quarantine: A legal framework for the planned new corona quarantine rules is to be sealed this week. In the future, among other things, people with booster vaccinations should be exempt from quarantine as a contact person for infected people. The health authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia may already apply the shortened quarantine regulations decided by the federal and state governments in individual decisions.

These new rules apply until February 9th. (js with dpa)
