'Red Alert' will be a trilogy: Netflix wants two consecutive sequels to its most popular movie of all time

The huge success of ‘Red Alert’ made it the most popular film of Netflix of all times. It is possible that ‘Do not look up’ ends up taking away that honor, but on the platform they are already working hard to convert the film starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds y Gal Gadot in at least one trilogy.

Already written

As reported Deadline, Netflix is currently trading for shoot two sequels of ‘Red Alert’ consecutively. The plan would be to start filming in early 2023 and the agreements with Johnson, Reynolds and Gadot still need to be finalized to make it possible. Yes indeed, Rawson Marshall Thurber, scriptwriter and director of the first installment, is already writing the scripts.

In addition, the platform wants to use ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ as a reference, so new characters will be introduced in the two sequels so that the franchise does not stagnate. However, it is still unknown which interpreters I might have in mind, but I would not be surprised if Sandra Bullock was among them, as the actress has already achieved two huge hits on Netflix with ‘Blind’ and ‘Unforgivable’.

Remember that the first installment was about to be a Universal movie, but the study had doubts at the last minute about the multi-million dollar budget that was going to have ‘Red Alert’. That’s when Netflix came on the scene with what was going to be its most expensive movie at the time. That “privilege” will not last long, because ‘The Gray Man’ has an even higher budget.
