Venezuela

The president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, rejected the slogans and actions of the movements antivacunas that operate in different countries of the world and seek to boycott the inoculation of different drugs against coronavirus. This message comes in tune with that of the French president Emmanuel Macron, who said he wanted to “screw up” the unvaccinated.

“Vaccination is freedom, I see the anti-vaccine denialist movements that exist in other countries of the world, especially in other countries, true freedom is to protect themselves, protect and that people can develop their social, cultural, economic, educational activity” said the president.

He also added that, in his opinion, “when you are protected and healthy you can exercise your freedom, true freedom is to be healthy, protected and alive, and in a pandemic there is no other way than vaccination and prevention.” What’s more, Mature urged the population to advance towards 100% immunization of the Venezuelan population.

“Vaccines have been designed for boys and girls for years. Vaccination processes throughout history are carried out with boys and girls as priority objectives, there are people who are afraid to vaccinate their children, when vaccines are made to protect them, “he said.

Until now, Venezuela had resumed vaccination in children 3 years of age and older; However, Maduro ordered the extension of immunization to children from the age of two. In addition, he assured that the objective is “to protect the whole family” and to be able to preserve the social and economic freedoms that have been achieved in his country with the lifting of the confinement.

This Wednesday, 598 new cases of sick people and 5 deaths were registered in Venezuela, as detailed by health authorities. According to Maduro, 91% of the population is immunized, but he did not specify if they were with two doses or just one.
