World surpasses 1 million cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours for the first time

Last time the country registered the trademark was in July 2021; moving average of deaths remains stable

Brazil registered 87.471 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, according to the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass). With that, the average number of Covid-19 cases in Brazil is again above 50 thousand per day. In the last 7 days, the index was 52,261 cases – the highest moving average recorded since July 1, 2021, when it was 54,115. The last time Brazil reached a moving average above 50,000 was on July 7. The country has recorded 133 deaths in the last 24 hours. The moving average of deaths stood at 123 in the last week and remains stable. According to Conass, on July 2 of last year, the average was 1,544. In all, Brazil has recorded 620,371 deaths from Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
