Moreno fulfills Roquetas' dream and lays the first stone of the hospital they have been waiting for 15 years

The Junta de Andalucía has unlocked the construction project of the hospital high resolution Roquetas de Mar (Almería), in which the regional Executive has invested 30 million euros, and that it will have an area of ​​hospitalization, emergencies, primary care and mental health.

The Andalusian Government has finally removed the agreement between the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) and the local town hall, which closed in 2009, and the Chairman of the Board, Juanma Moreno has placed this Wednesday the first stone of the works of the future hospital, which will be ready in 2o23.

The event had the participation of several authorities to whom the president has recognized that the “desire” of the municipality to have a facility of these characteristics was “fair, necessary and sensible” for the locality and the Poniente region, which had been waiting 15 years the start of the project.

The leader of the Andalusian Executive has stressed the need to have this new infrastructure, in which about 30 million euros will be invested through European financing, after an “old claim” by the Mayor of the municipality, Gabriel Amat (PP), to whom Moreno has recognized his perseverance in promoting the hospital.

The project takes place on a plot to the southwest of Roquetas de Mar de 49,000 square meters in which there will be a high-resolution hospital of 16,300 square meters built equipped with a heliport, 53 rooms hospitalization, 27 outpatient clinics, 15 operating rooms, medical day hospital, pediatric emergency area, four operating rooms in the surgical area, radiological service, clinical support area and rehabilitation area.

In addition, the facility will have 17 primary care consultations, four of them from pediatrics, area of ​​diagnostic tests and area of Health mental, where the Board is “making an effort to respond to the problems caused by the pandemic,” according to the president. The center is completed with an area of ​​minor surgery, dentistry and health education.

The hospital will have a heliport which is projected onto the Emergency module and is connected to the building by means of a ramp that leads directly to an elevator with bed lift capacity that allows fluid arrival to the emergency area.

1,600 more healthcare professionals

Likewise, the president of the Junta de Andalucía has reviewed the provision of health personnel to the Andalusian public system so far this legislature so that, according to the figures of the regional Executive, in Almería there are 1,588 more professionals active.

In the case of Almería, Moreno has highlighted milestones such as the implementation of the Maternal-Infantill Hospital, the House of the Sea and the expansion of Poniente Hospital, to which are added improvements in the health centers of Roquetas de Mar and upcoming actions such as the building of external consultations of TorreCárdenas, the drafting of the project for the new Nephrology and administration building of the Hospital La Inmaculada, the drafting of the project for the construction of two new health centers in Benahadux and Albox, as well as the drafting of the project for the expansion of the Plaza de Toros health center.
