How penalty miss at European Championship can cut in: 'Marcus Rashford stayed in bed for days'

According to Daily Mail That can be traced back to his penalty miss in the European Championship final against Italy, after which Rashford stayed in bed for days, seeking psychological help for the first time in his career.

Rashford is having a hard time at Manchester United. He recovered from shoulder surgery at the start of the season, but now doesn’t really show himself, let alone often be decisive as before. Rashford has taken to social media to respond to the observation that he sometimes appears to be sulking.

Volunteering sucks him up?

“I’m not sulking, I’m not unhappy,” he wrote. “Am I disappointed with my recent performance? Absolute. I am the biggest critic of myself. It’s been a difficult start to the season, but I’m determined to show my worth. My commitment and will to be here should never be questioned.”

Some suggest that his voluntary work for underprivileged children, which earned him a title of nobility, would be too much for him.

The look is also turned to his private life: earlier this week it was announced that Rashford is again a couple with his childhood sweetheart Lucia Loi. They broke up in the spring of last year.

Gemiste penalty EK

But the English newspaper Daily Mail traces Rashford’s dip back to his missed penalty in the European Championship final against Italy. Rashford was brought in in the closing minutes of overtime, specifically for the purpose of taking a penalty. That ended badly. England lost the penalty shootout 4-3 at Wembley.

According to Daily Mail Rashford then stayed in bed for days, seeking help from a sports psychologist for the first time in his career. That came on top of the trouble with a muscle tear in the shoulder, for which he went under the knife in August.
