Faced with the heat wave, they ask to take precautions to avoid fires

The maximum temperature is still around 40 degrees in San Juan, in the midst of the heat wave, which would not end until next week, according to forecasts. In that context, The Ministry of the Environment issued a series of recommendations to take into account in order to prevent fires.

“In the midst of the heat wave forecast for this week, we want to recommend some indications to collaborate with the environment and avoid sources of fire,” they indicated from the area. Since, they warned: “The heat wave can aggravate drought conditions and increase the chances of fires.”

And they listed the following prevention measures:

– Don’t make a fire.

– Do not throw match butts and / or cigarettes as they are dangerous.

– Take your waste: cans and glass can act as a magnifying glass and start fires.

– In case of fire, do not stay in the place. Get safe as far as possible and clear the paths.

– In any event, call 911.
