Brazilian journalist Camila Fiorini, 26, was the first Brazilian diagnosed with variant Deltacron gives Covid-19, which has characteristics of the strains Delta e Omicron. The strain was discovered in Cyprus and only 25 people have been infected with it worldwide. In an interview with the R7 website, Fiorini, who lives in Belo Horizonte, in Minas Gerais, said she was diagnosed while on vacation in Europe. “Different from the result that we normally receive in Brazil, the PCR here already comes with the level of your viral load, which is the level you are of contamination, and the strain. And that’s what it was written, that it was a mixture of Ômicron with the strain from the United Kingdom, which is Delta”, told the journalist to the website. Camila reported that during her quarantine she had a fever, cough, headache and loss of smell and taste, which proves the mixture of the two strains. She had her ticket back to Brazil postponed because of the positive test. The Minas Gerais State Health Department has not reported any Deltacron notifications in the state.
