The Chinese manufacturer of robot vacuum cleaners Yeedi is clear about his greatest strength and where must compete: on price. Its latest addition to the Spanish market is the Vac Hybrid, a 210 euro ‘roomba’ that vacuums and scrubs the floor and is compatible with the self-draining base that the user can buy for others 200 euros extra.
This robot has a construction almost traced to the rest of the siblings of the family. Designed in matt white plastic on the top and glossy black on the bottom, it is elegant and functional. Has a camera that you can use to draw maps from home, to be guided and also to link to the user’s phone through a QR code the first time it is used.
Once connected to the internet –in a process that is very simple– the Vac Hybrid can be controlled with the ‘smartphone’ remotely, program days and hours for cleaning cycles, as well as edit the maps created after several passes of the robot in which exclusion areas that it will not pass can be included.
With a power of 2,500 pascals, almost two hours of autonomy and quite large water and dirt deposits, the main novelty of this model compared to others is that It is able to detect carpets to avoid them if it is in scrubbing mode and what is compatible with the self-draining base, in case in the future the user wants to improve their equipment and allow the Yeedi Vac Hybrid to clean itself for 200 euros more.
The Yeedi Vac Hybrid is not the smartest or most powerful robot vacuum on the market, but for a very low price it offers more than enough vacuuming and scrubbing for optimal home maintenance and the option of being able to improve it in the future makes it more interesting. It’s too bad the carpet vacuuming option isn’t compatible with floor scrubbing.
