On TV3 the children are not allowed to say “wheat” or “bow tie” in Spanish as happened in the program Catch me if you can but they have used it without any kind of complex when they have had to whitewash bloodthirsty ETA members as happened repeatedly in the program FAQS in the stage in which I presented it Laura Rosel. We have seen this presenter spellbound interviewing Arnaldo Otegi in perfect Spanish (convicted of the kidnapping of the businessman Luis Abaitua, whom he kept for ten days buried in a tiny den and forced to play Russian roulette), Juan Carlos Yoldi (20 years in prison for belonging to an ETA command) or Jose Antonio Fernandez, alias maguila, assassin of the merchant, Rafael Vega Gil, 48 years old, married and father of four children, whom the aforementioned fired nine shots at on June 5, 1982 in the Santiago neighborhood of Las Viñas. Rosel gave the three ETA members knowing gestures and glances.
It should be remembered that the presenter – who even wore a t-shirt in favor of the coup leader Carles Puigdemont – refused to speak to him in Spanish. Sergio Fajardo, mayor of the Colombian city of Medellín between 2004 and 2007 and candidate for the presidential elections of the Latin American country in 2018. «Can you repeat the question? I don’t understand Catalan, ”the Colombian pleaded. Rosel turned a deaf ear and Ada Colau had to intercede by offering herself as a translator.
TV3 forbids children to speak in Spanish but does not hesitate to use it to massage the ETA gunmen with laughter as they remember their murders. Rosel was fired in January 2019 but nothing has changed in the speaker par excellence of independence. They were not isolated cases but an essential part of the informational treatment of the coup chain that consists of softening the past of the terrorist gang whose harmony with the Catalan independence movement and the leaders of the Government has been total in recent months.
Another example was when ETA announced its dissolution and Evening TV news issued a mini-report on the suffering of the relatives of ETA prisoners. “The familiars [de los presos etarras] they speak of feelings, emotions, but also figures. And the numbers are devastating: in 29 years of dispersal of prisoners there have been more than 400 traffic accidents and 16 fatalities on the roads among family and friends. They affirm that they are also victims of the Basque conflict and the relatives believe that they are doubly condemned ”, said the TV3 journalist Jordi Eroles in his chronicle from Hernani (Guipúzcoa), as collected Global Chronicle.
A public television that costs 250 million euros a year to put a red carpet for the members of the terrorist gang with which secessionism maintains close ties as it could be seen this Christmas. The Catalan independence movement (and the rest of Sánchez’s partners) no longer hide from attending marches for the imminent freedom of ETA prisoners in Bilbao and in other parts of the Basque Country. The complete list of groups that attended also included the CUP, the Catalan National Assembly (ANC), Omnium Cultural, the Consell per la República (the body created by Carles Puigdemont as a government in exile) and the Galician BNG. Everything is in the family.
