According to the provincial Security Ministry, a woman warned that her husband went out on Sunday afternoon to practice kitesurfing, without a life jacket, in the waters of the Río de la Plata, off the Hudson coast and did not return to the mainland. .
As a result of the incident, an intense search began, in which the Prefecture joined forces with specialized personnel, a jet ski, a semi-rigid, the GC-79 Río Deseado coast guard and even a helicopter.
Due to the complaint, the decentralized Functional Unit of Instruction and Trial Number 5 of Berazategui, in charge of Laureano Carlos Riera, took part, as officially reported.
The consulted spokesmen detailed that the kitesurfer got lost, “approximately 1,000 meters from the coast.”
At the moment, raking is being carried out “from the spa area to Puerto Trinidad, as well as on foot on the coast.”
Staff from Special Risks, Civil Defense of Berazategui, led by director Romero, and staff from the Berazategui 4th Police Station, led by Alejandro Barrios, are present in the area.
According to the Prefecture, the search will resume today from six in the morning.
