After the last official meeting, the Federal Health Council (Cofesa) modified the isolation conditions for cases of close contact with COVID-19 positives.
The agency, made up of the health ministries of the provinces and the nation, agreed on new guidelines amid the third wave of coronavirus infections in the country. It determined that those close contacts who are asymptomatic and have a complete vaccination scheme and have received the reinforcement less than four months ago should not do the isolation.
When it comes to an unvaccinated person, “they have to do the isolation as usual,” said the Minister of National Health, Carla Vizzotti.
The official indicated in statements to the Buenos Aires media “Radio Con Vos” that people with a complete primary scheme (two doses) less four months ago and those who had coronavirus in the last 90 days may have more flexibility in isolation, if they are close contact, and a test will be recommended between the third and fifth day to define their condition.
Who are the changes in coronavirus isolation?
Vizzotti explained that the changes in isolation due to coronavirus were taken due to the “important impact” of the confinement of close contacts “in the health system, police, firefighters, the energy sector, Aerolineas Argentinas but also in the private sector ”.
How will the changes in coronavirus isolation be applied
The Minister of Health clarified that it will be each jurisdiction that determines the implementation of the changes in isolation due to coronavirus, which were determined at a meeting of the Federal Health Council (COFESA) in which Vizzotti, his peers from all the provinces and specialists.
Vizzotti said that “each province has different progress in vaccination, different epidemiological situation, different testing capacity and different, above all, activities that are considered a priority.”
