Member of the Association of Nutritionists, nutritionist-nutritionist Yekaterina Matyskina, in an interview with Sputnik radio, called Russians a way to take vitamins correctly.
Matyskina noted that many vitamins are not combined with each other. She advised not to take two different monovitamin preparations at the same time. “That is, you drank something in the morning, something in the afternoon and something in the evening,” she stressed.
Drugs that contain only one vitamin should be treated with caution, as such drugs may have contraindications, she said. It is necessary to take such drugs only as directed by a physician. “Wrong dosages can lead to an excess of the substance in the body and harm it,” she explained.
According to her, multivitamin complexes are specially designed taking into account the compatibility of all the elements in their composition, so they are allowed on their own initiative. “There are no therapeutic dosages in multivitamin complexes, so drinking them without a doctor’s recommendation is not dangerous,” she said.
The nutritionist added that vitamins can be taken at any time of the day. She clarified that they must be washed down with water.
Earlier, the doctor and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov revealed a way to properly take vitamin D. He noted that this substance is better absorbed when used in a pill. The specialist explained that basically the vitamins present in food are taken by the body with food more efficiently than those contained in the vitamin-mineral complex, but there are those that should be drunk in a prepared and tablet form.
