The construction of the fertilizer plant is urgently needed by the peasant sector of Ahome

Los Mochis, Sinaloa.- The peasant sector of the municipality of Ahome urges the start of the construction of the fertilizer plant given that the increases in Anhydrous Ammonia and Urea continue to be unstoppable.

Juan Díaz Escobar, president of the Campesino Municipal Committee 5, said that never before have producers suffered such exorbitant increases in the prices of fertilizers, and this was mainly due to the fact that these important inputs for agriculture are not produced here, but in extremely distant countries, from where they have to move and be imported, raising their costs in a disproportionate firm and having a direct impact on the producer’s precarious economy.

He indicated that as producers they are desperate due to the difficult situation that is prevailing, since they do not understand why they are being forced to acquire such expensive inputs, although they could be produced here.

He pointed out that hence the urgency to take the necessary steps once and for all so that once and for all the long-awaited construction project of the fertilizer plant in Topolobampo, given that the project has even already been endorsed in the citizen consultation and it does not have to be postponed for any longer.
