This week is hell in Argentina with the high temperatures predicted by specialists. Since this last Monday, the thermometer will not stop increasing the numbers until, at least, on Sunday that rain is announced.
Thus, the Municipality’s Hydrometeorology Directorate announced the part of the thermal sensations that hit each neighborhood at 3 pm this Tuesday. In that time slot, the neighborhood that suffered the most was Los Hornos with a thermal sensation of 43º.
This is followed by Villa Elvira which, an hour ago, registered a thermal of 40.4 and San Carlos with 40.2. On the list continues Melchor Romer with 40.1, Villa Elisa with 39.7, Altos de San Lorenzo with 37.5, and Gonnet with 39th.
With a few degrees less, City Bell lived 38.2 and Tolosa with 37.7º. According to the forecast, between Thursday and Friday the maximum temperature of 40º could be exceeded, which means a thermal above that measure.
Experts recommend avoiding sun exposure between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Stay hydrated, cool and consume at least two liters of water per day. This recommendation applies to pets, which can also suffer from heat stroke.
The Municipality reported that as part of the “Heat Operation” it arranged four new hydration points in shopping centers and high-concentration public spaces. In addition, it follows the distribution of water in the neighborhoods.
The different operational areas of the municipality are carrying out the “Heat Operation”, with the aim of addressing the high temperatures that affect the city during these days.
As reported, the new spaces were located from the early hours of the morning in the Shopping Center on Calle 8, 9 and adjacencies (8 and 50), as well as on the shopping mall on Calle 12 (12 and 57). They will operate throughout the week from 10 am to 4 pm, the time of the day when the highest temperatures are recorded.
In the same way, from this afternoon another two hydration points will be placed in green spaces of the city, with the aim of assisting those residents who attend physical activity. They will be on the green cordon of Avenida 32 from 4 to 6, and in Parque San Martín (Av. 25 and 51); While they will work from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., a suitable time for physical activity considering the high temperatures.
It should be remembered that last Monday the Commune had installed two hydration points in the COVID-19 testing centers, located in Saavedra Park and the Ecological Park.
