Senator proposes to eliminate VAT on adult diapers

The legislator belonging to the Morena bench announced her proposal to eliminate Value Added Tax (VAT) on adult diapers through their social networks:

“In order to support adults over 60 years of age who need disposable diapers for some health condition, I presented an initiative to apply rate 0 to these products,” wrote Margarita Valdez on her Twitter account.

In its initiative to reform the second article of the Value Added Tax Law, The senator explained that in recent years the percentage of older adults among the population has grown. In many cases, they require the use of products that represent a considerable expense in the long run, such as disposable diapers.

In addition, Valdez pointed out that 69.4% of older adults in the country suffer from some disability, be it neurodegenerative or physical, and prolonged expenses such as that of adult diapers can severely affect your economy.

“The Federal Government must carry out the necessary measures to guarantee the sale of the zero percent rate so that it is reflected in the final price for the consumer,” the senator proposed.
