One of the changes in Rouanet Law is the implementation of ceiling for theater rentals. The secretary of cultural promotion and incentive of the Special Secretariat for Culture, André Porciuncula, posted on social media that it was necessary to put an end to the astronomical values of the rooms that reached millions of reais, consuming much of the law’s resources. Now, the maximum amount will be R$ 10 thousand. In addition, the Rouanet Law funding ceiling fell by half and a new ceiling was also defined for artistic fees paid with resources from the law, of R$ 3 thousand, which means a reduction of 93%. In the view of federal government, the value of R$ 3 thousand is excellent for artists in early career. In addition, all salaries will be fixed and, according to Porciuncula, there will be no exceptions for celebrities. The idea is to expand access to small and allow greater decentralization of resources.
