Philipp Hosiner has a new employer.
The former Austria goalgetter is moving from second division Dynamo Dresden to Offenbacher Kickers in the Regionalliga Südwest and thus in the fourth highest division in Germany.
The 32-year-old from Burgenland came to Dresden from Chemnitz in the summer of 2020. After Hosiner could not convince at the start of the season – in eight games he only scored with one assist – he was no longer in the Dynamo squad in the last five games of the fall season.
“I’m very happy to have signed my contract with Kickers Offenbach today. The people in charge went out of their way to look after me and made me feel very good. I will do everything I can from today to achieve our common goals,” said a delighted Hosiner informed himself about his new job on the club’s homepage.
Kickers managing director Thomas Sobotzik, who laced his soccer shoes at Rapid from 2001 to 2003, says: “With Philipp Hosiner we get a thoroughbred striker who, despite the remarkable goal rate, always puts the team’s success in the foreground.”
