Lena Meyer-Landrut speaks openly about her rise

As the hitherto unknown singer Lena Meyer-Landrut participated in the show “Our Star for Oslo” in 2009 and prevailed. The fact that she then won the first German triumph since “A Little Peace” and Nicole at the Eurovision Song Contest surprised all of Germany.

In just one night she became the most sought-after person in Germany, appeared on all TV shows, gave numerous interviews and toured Europe. One album chased the next.

  • From 2013 to 2016 she was seen as a coach in the casting show “The Voice Kids”, alongside Mark Forster, among others
  • Lena Meyer-Landrut was also on the jury for “Our Song 2017”


Lena Meyer-Landrut: “I was overwhelmed”

At the time, however, the young singer couldn’t handle her success. She “felt overcrowded.” “I was overwhelmed at work and in my private life – that was all too much,” she confesses in DJ Felix Jaehn’s podcast “Breathe”.

As a result, she would often have been in a bad mood, but this was not well received. “I cannot suffice as I am. I have to present a certain picture, ”says Lena Meyer-Landrut. Before that, she wasn’t aware of it, she had to learn it first.

But after almost ten years in the spotlight, she can handle it better. “I’m not so afraid anymore. Many years, especially the first five to ten years, were characterized by fear, ”says Lena Meyer-Landrut.
