FC Utrecht has a deal with Juventus about hiring the former PSV player. There are still some issues to be resolved, Ihattaren has yet to make a final decision, but it looks like he can start working on his comeback in a familiar environment.
It is the intention that Ihattaren will be rented out to FC Utrecht for 1.5 years, because he will not be match fit in the short term. Ihattaren played his last official game for PSV in April last year. He was then excluded from the selection by PSV coach Roger Schmidt. In the summer, Juventus took over Ihattaren from PSV for 1.9 million euros.
Juve stored the 19-year-old talent at Sampdoria, but it all went wrong there. Ihattaren first had to work on his fitness for a long time and then could not mentally bring it up not to get a chance and returned to the Netherlands. The plan now is to let Ihattaren relaunch his career in his own familiar environment.
FC Utrecht is always looking for opportunities like this. With Zakaria Labyad, who had also been sidetracked abroad, this worked out very well a few years ago. The midfielder managed to rehabilitate and earned a transfer to Ajax.
